Adwords In Print For An Extra Few Hundred Dollars Each Week

This one can put an extra $200/week in your pocket. Or an extra $300. Or an extra $500…

Adwords in PrintQuickie: Adwords in Print

Step 1 - Go to your favorite Affiliate Network (Commission Junction, Azoogle, Hydramedia, etc. - if you aren’t signed up with any, do it!), look through the CPA* offers for credit repair, debt relief, mortgages loans, cash advance payday loans, student loans, and similar offers and sign up for a few. Many of these offers pay $4-$20 or more simply for filling out an application!

* (”CPA” actually stands for “Commission Per Action” and was originally used primarily for non-sale offers such as lead-generation offers. Today, it’s a catch-all (”Kleenex”) term for “affiliate network”)

Step 2 - Set up a landing page (it could be a simple - and free! - blogger account), and paste a few paragraphs straight from the CPA offer’s promo page. Include your affiliate link for the offer prominently.

Step 3 - Next, pick up a Sunday paper, the ‘Penny Saver’, community paper, ‘Auto Trader’, any guide or magazine with advertisements in it. Look through the real estate section, money & investing section, auto financing - anything finance or credit related.

Step 4 - Now place an ad in those papers such as:

Bad Credit?
99% approval

Easy. Powerful. Can be applied to a zillion different areas. Oh, and make sure you have an opt-in set up on your page to capture email addresses! This is where you can use some of the previous Melanies Tips freebies.

Make SURE you grab their email address!

If you don’t set up an opt-in on your landing page, your throwing away an opportunity to turn each sale into 2 or 3 or 5 sales. If you haven’t gotten yourself set up with an auto-responder, now would be a great time. Auto-responders are what you will use to create ‘opt-in’ forms and build your own lists. You should ALWAYS be collecting email addresses and building lists.

I use, and promote Aweber; at $19.95/month ($14.95/mo if paid yearly) for nearly unlimited volume, it’s one of the best values in Internet Marketing. However I can also vouch for GetResponse, and 1Shoppingcart.

A word of warning about Auto-responders: do NOT use a ‘free’ Auto-responder. A list is worthless if your email never reaches it’s intended recipient. More and more ‘bulk email’ providers are blocked at the ISP level. Aweber not only maintains over 100 accounts at various ISP’s and mail services and tests their ‘delivery rate’ daily, they are the only company with a full-time person who’s job is to maintain relationships and insure they remain “White-Listed”. If you chose to sign-up for Aweber through this link, shoot me an email - I have a nice bonus for you!

Lastly, don’t wait. An Internet Marketers worst nightmare is having to move or upgrade Auto-responders: your entire list must re-opt-in. You will lose 25-75% of your subscribers, even those who want and like your email.

    Hi Melanie,

Nice idea! How much do these classified ads typically cost?

Bet it’s cheaper than PPC for this particular field!

    Hi Frank,

Depending on where you live, and the circulation of the papers you’re advertising in, you should be able to place ads for $25-$100 each.

I live in New York, so it’s about as expensive as it gets here. I’ve been able to find ’semi-local’ papers and “Community Guides” that I can run ads in for $40-$60.

Thanks Melanie. Can you expound a bit more on this…how many clicks do these type of ads generate, what’s the conversion like, how often do you have to run the ad to get response, etc?

I’m just trying to get a feel for it before plonking down the $50 or so on the ad…

    Thanks!
