Finding Affiliate Products & Programs That Fit

May 4th, 2008 · No Comments

Affiliate Products & ProgramsMany of us Internet Marketers are “product driven”, meaning we find products we want to promote, then promote them via Pay Per Click (PPC), review sites, article marketing, list marketing, etc. Some of us are more ‘niche driven‘, but the same hold true: we look for products we want to promote, then promote them.

Most of us also use a similar routine: we surf through Clickbank or Commission Junction to see what’s available, what might be the closest fit, etc…

But how many of us go beyond Clickbank or CJ? And what about “topical opportunities” - those “hot” niches that develop from news, current events, fads, trends, etc. Examples of “topical opportunities” would be Global Warming, or the upcoming US presidential race, or the recent changes in Ebay policy, or even a big media controversy. Savvy marketers watch for these opportunities because they know they can ‘get in quick’ and ride a huge wave of interest and search traffic before too many others realize.

So what do you do if you are one of those who accurately spots a trend-in-the-making, or simply wants to target a niche that doesn’t have the greatest selection of products available on Clickbank?

The answer is surprisingly obvious (drum roll please…):

Do a search. Click on the ads that you find. Then check for an “Affiliates” or “Affiliate Program” link on the landing page or home page of the product being advertised.

This will often net you new (read: LESS COMPETITIVE) products to promote, PLUS they are targeted directly to whatever you are searching on!

We’ve done this to find many profitable Affiliate products & programs that we never would have found simply relying on surfing the affiliate networks - in some cases, finding products ON those networks that we simply overlooked!

Don’t limit yourself to one or two affiliate networks, or even to affiliate networks in general. Search your topic or niche using various keyword phrases, click on the ads, and tailor your affiliate products so that they fit!
