Article marketing is all the rage these days - and for good reason: it works! Article marketing is free, and can generate hi-quality targeted traffic to your site or offer indefinitely. A one-time effort that pays dividends for a long, long time.
Here’s how to get your keyword article to the top of the heap, while providing serious, long-lasting benefits:
First, go to Ezinearticles and look up your subject based on the keyword you are targeting. Find the article - the article with the most views - and copy it. There is a reason this article is the most viewed. By “copy” I mean use the same headline, slightly modified. Read the article and write one that is similar. Not exactly, but close.
Next, you’re going to “SEO” your article, meaning optimize it for the search engines. SEO’ing an article is simple and straightforward. Here is everything you need to do:
- Begin the article title with your keyword.
- Begin the article summary with your keyword.
- Start the first sentence of the first paragraph with your keyword.
- Include the keyword 3-5 times through the article.
- Include a link in the next-to-last paragraph, and use your keyword as the “anchor” text.
- Begin the first sentence of the last paragraph with your keyword.
That’s it - your article, which should be extremely close to what your already know to be the most viewed article, is almost certainly better optimized.
Submit the article. You’re done.
Lather, rinse, repeat…

Very interesting. I’m a beginner and would have liked a more in-depth definition of SEO.
Typo: “Your (sic) done.” next to last line. I’m also an editor, can you tell?
Thanks for being willing to pass on your expertise.

Thanks for the ‘editing’, Breton - now corrected! BTW, here’s a pretty extensive list of SEO resources: http://www.improveyourinternetmarketing.com/exhaustive-list-of-seo-tools-resources/
Victoria, thanks for the nice words - as always!
