STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO CREATING INFO-PRODUCTS

One of the very best methods to build an Internet Marketing business is to create and sell your own info-products. Unfortunately, many folks avoid this goldmine opportunity for fear it is difficult, convoluted, time-consuming, or just too difficult.

I recently created an entire info-product BUSINESS in one day’s time. Here’s how I did it:

Find a decent PLR pack - a simple search on Google will net you lots of companies and individuals selling “PLR packs”, usually a bundle of 10-15 articles on a particular topic. You can also browse through the ‘forum offer’ section of your favorite marketing forum - Warrior Forum always has good PLR in their WSO section. Or, simply ask in a thread for recommendations.

Pick a topic you can work with - this DOESN’T mean something you know about, just something that won’t bore you to tears working with.

Arrange Articles - Look over the articles, and arrange them into a logical flow. This will become your ebook info-product.

Re-write the content - This is the step many people are afraid of, but you shouldn’t be. Firstly, you don’t actually HAVE to do this - we’ve been successful with UNALTERED PLR! However, you are better served by modifying it.

The easiest way to do this is simply open the article along with a new (empty) text editor window. Beginning with the title, simply re-state it back to your text editor. Go through each paragraph like that. You don’t even need to change much, just read each sentence and say it back slightly differently. POOF! You have totally unique content!

Buy or create an ebook cover - You can find deals on ebook covers just like you found your PLR pack. A recent peek on Warrior’s WSO forum listed many offers for ebook covers from $17-$35. Alternately, just Google “free ebook cover software” and you’ll find a dozen free programs that will create an ebook cover.

Doing it yourself? Go up to Flikr, type your subject in the search box, and you’ll find lots of images, most of which you can use because Flikr uses the Open Commons license - just make sure the image you want is Open license. Alternately, you can go to istockphoto.com and pick a suitable image for a buck. Put the title over the image with any graphics program, and you have the image for your ebook cover!

Affiliate Products - Want to create some additional revenue from your ebook? Go to Google, type in the subject of your new info-product, and check out the PPC ads. Click on a bunch to find ones that have affiliate programs. You can now sprinkle links throughout your ebook, or create a “Resources” section at the end listing your new affiliate products!

Publish it! - Using Open Office - free! - arrange your new unique articles, write a quick Table of Contents simply listing the article titles in order, paste your ebook cover on the front page, and export as PDF. POOF again! You now have your own, unique info product!

Create a Sales Letter - Much easier than it might seem. Find a simple, short sales letter you like, and copy it! Using nvu or other html editor, re-write it by replacing each sentence, benefit, etc. to fit your product. Again, paste your ebook cover graphic in it, and you have your sales letter!

You’re now ready to sell your new info-product! For $49, you can open another Clickbank account and put it up in the Marketplace for affiliates to sell, or you can marked it yourself directly. Or both!

Add a Minisite - using 5 of the articles in your ebook, create a minisite to promote your ebook! Add links to the sales letter, links to the affiliate programs you found, even Adsense if you like.

Promote it! - In addition, (or instead) of Clickbank, use all the articles in the ebook as individual articles for Article Submission, with a link and resource box pointing back to your minisite or sales letter.

Article Submission Tips

Article marketing is the core strategy in the Bum Marketing method, is becoming increasingly popular. In fact, we’ve highlighted a number of excellent strategies on this blog and for “Melanies Tips” that revolve around Article Marketing (read our post on creating multiple streams of income and huge traffic from one article).

This is due to two reasons: first, it’s free. Second, it works. However, chances are likely that if you’re using Article Marketing, you could be seeing better results.

In order to maximize the returns on your articles - namely, how much traffic they bring - you must think of them as miniature Web sites. In fact, depending on the article directories you submit them to, these articles will behave just like, and usually better than your Web sites.

The best-case scenario is to have your article reach the first page in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages), as well as have many backlinks pointing to them, so that someone searching on a topic you submitted an article for will find your article.

One strategy you should always strive for is quality. Whether you are writing them yourself from scratch, modifying PLR articles, or out-sourcing them entirely, an informative, engaging article is better than one that isn’t.

However, thats NOT the most important point. After all, you want someone to click a link in the article or resource box, whether they loved the article or hated it. And the way to increase the number of people clicking on it, regardless of the article itself, is good SERPs placement.

Here again, think of your article as a Web site. As such, here are the simple, yet effective means to SEO, or optimize, your articles for the best results (and speaking of which, we still get the single best ‘ROI’ from Ezinearticles):

1. Keywords. Whatever the topic, do your basic keyword research. Use a keyword research tool to find both the primary and long-tail keywords relevant to the article. Skip any of the hyper-competitive primary keywords, as you won’t rank for them. Choose keywords and keyword phrases you have a chance with.

2. Choose ONE keyword or keyword phrase per article.

3. Include that keyword phrase as the BEGINNING of the article title.

4. BEGIN the article summary with your chosen keyword.

5. BEGIN the first paragraph with that same keyword.

6. Include the keyword or variations (i.e. “schooling”, “schools”, “schooled” work fine with the primary keyword “school”).

7. Use that same keyword as the anchor text in your resource box.

If you follow these simple steps, your article will rank better and faster, and you will get the most benefits you can from each article!
