Step-by-Step, No-Cost Plan To Build Sustainable Revenues

April 28th, 2008 · No Comments

Dollar signHere is an easy, no-cost, step-by-step plan which will get you earning income quickly, build to a few hundred dollars in about 30 days, continue to grow over time, and provide a viable, low-maintanence, sustainable income business model.

Step 1 - Choose a Niche Product

First things first; choose a niche. I won’t go into the whole niche research thing, but I’ll tell you that when we began doing these, we took John Reese’s (paraphrased) sage advice: “Want to know what to sell? See what others are selling and sell that.” Don’t worry about competiton, go where the money is, where you already know people are buying.

This plan works beautifully going with popular Clickbank products. (As a general rule of thumb, we look for a min. $20 commission per sale. If you’re going to do the work, you might as well get a decent commission.) This works just as well, however, with any good affiliate product.

Step 2 - Do some basic keyword research

An easy step: you can simply use Wordtracker’s free keyword tool (http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com) for this. Input a few primary keywords relevant to the niche product. Take the top few (search volume) from each seed keyword. This will become the basis of the next steps.

Step 3 - Site content

Write 4-5 articles related to the niche product. These will become the content for your site. The only real requirement is that you write articles into which you can comfortably fit a mention of the niche product you will be promoting, once into each article. These will be where your affiliate link will go, and where your sales will come from.

Step 4 - Create a minisite

Create a new niche site (We use Xsitepro which automates most of the
important basic SEO, but you can achieve the same optimization manually just by picking a keyword-centric domain name, including your primary keyword phrase in your homepage title tag and H1 tag, and doing the same for each subsequent page). Nvu (http://www.nvu.com) will work perfectly for this as well.

The site doesn’t need to be anything fancy; you can find many free, decent page templates online that will work fine. $3-$5 at istockphoto (http://www.istockphoto.com) will get you a nice graphic you can use for your page header.

Once you’ve uploaded the site, submit a sitemap to Google.

Step 5 - Create a blog network

Sign up and create 3 free blogs, 2 with Blogger, and 1 with Wordpress. These will become your own “blog network”, helping to develop some quick pagerank and eventual organic traffic for your minisite.

Steps 5 through… - Into action!

Ok, here’s the “meat” of this strategy: Using the keyword list you generated in Step 2, you will write one well SEO-structured article per day for each site and submit it to Ezinearticles.

(By “well SEO-structured”, I mean each article will be based on one of your keyword phrases. That keyword phrase will appear in the title, the article summary, the start of the first paragraph, 2-3 more times throughout the article body, and as the anchor text in your resource box).

For each article, take the summary and first paragraph of each article, and re-write it slightly as a blog post on each blog. Whatever keyword phrase that article is targeted towards, that becomes the anchor text for a single link on each blog back to the minisite.

Depending on where you’ve started in the Pagerank update cycle, you will almost always get a PR3 either the next update, or the following one, and soon start ranking for your keyword phrases.

Almost immediately you will begin to get a trickle of traffic, and almost certainly begin to see sporadic sales within the first week or so. By 30 days out, you should be seeing at least one sale per day, which will give you at least $100/wk.

Going forward, your only ‘maintainence’ requirement is to continue submitting an article each day. Your traffic (and sales) volume should continue to rise.

Lather, rinse, repeat. Once you get through the initial steps and into ‘maintenance’, the work load is very small, so there’s no reason you can’t begin a new one as soon as you reach that point with the previous one.

Once you have a few sites going, you can profitably out-source the article writing.

These will continue to provide revenue for as long as you continue to ‘prime’ the funnel with new articles.

As an added bonus, once you have some steady traffic, even a few months worth, and a little Pagerank, you could flip the site very profitably, pretty quickly & easily.
